Laker Suck

Plain as that, I hate them. Why? Because I'm a die-hard Kings fan. They are gay, their players are gay, and most of all - Laker fans are gay.

K, moving onto other things that are not as obvious. A different change in my school schedule. Still have 335, which seems gay because the teacher just goes so fast in class... then again it's only been 1 day. We shall see tomorrow whether or not that's a trend. Astronoy is actually not that bad, quite interesting so far with facts about planets and stars. I'm just afraid about the physics portion of it... but then again, it's not really a physics class, it's an astronomy class. At least there's no homework or extra reading I should be doing yet. 314 isn't that bad, just keeping up with Helen Yu's accent (which actually seems to be quite proper and she even makes jokes) and her handwriting is very good too. No homework yet... lets souble check that. Aha! I will be assigned tomorrow, and due in a week. So so far, only 335 assigment. Hopefully I'll get the e-permit tomorrow from Yu. 316 is pretty good, I just need to stay on top of the reading. Fab is funny... although sometimes I don't know what she's saying or understand her jokes because it's too political/intellectual. Anyways, those are my 14 units, oh yeah and Bowling. Me and Jeff are in the same team and we won our first game with 2 other people. Classes this quarter shouldn't be that bad as long as I stay on top of it all. We got today off for Cesar Chavez day... then again, EVERY Thursday is Cesar Chavez day for me this quarter! Tuesday will be called... well I dunno what I'll call it but I'll love it.

What else... yeah I guess I should start going on a diet. I need to eat healthier. I've had a salad the last 2 days, and need to just stop eating junk food. I saw Michelle again recently - you ask why? Well duh, cause her computer broke again. that's all I'm good for, oh well. I managed to fix it, thank god I have my external hard drive enclosure that allowed me to connect her hard drive from her laptop, after taking it out of the laptop, to my computer to backup. That thing was really screwed up, but it still works I guess.

Um, lessee... Huy turned 21 yesterday, we had fun here at our house. Waiting to see the pics. Mom and brothers coming tomorrow, haven't seen them for over 3 months. Wow time really flies. Well I should go call them now.

Goodbye Academic Freedom

Well, the 10 days of academic freedom is over. Those days where I was not held down by the slightest sense of educational obligation won't be seen again until the month of June. Tomorrow is the beginning of Spring Quarter, where it will be a quarter filled with work, EE 335, EE 314, PHIL 316, and ENGL 149. What it WON'T be filled with are labs... no fucking labs bitch! It is an engineer's dream. If only I was taking 12 units, haha... no... a full 16 I believe.

To sum up Spring Break:
- Completion of New Clan (website up - though not complete, server up with damage/weapons, TS up - though not with image, even recruitment first member)
- Sitting around and eating, sleeping, playing.
- Spending quality time with Apollo
- Work
- Applebee's and Hostage with EA and Sand
- Poker night at Mason's

That was the jist of it, nothing else really special. Grades for the quarter turned out a 2.575 GPA... B's and C's. What can I say... my head just wasn't in the school mode. I doubt this next quarter will be any better but I'll try my best and try not to work so much. We'll see how tired I get on Mondays after class and work. Bye bye academic freedom..... fin

-_- Sleepy...

Man I should really make a habit of making shorter posts so I can write down all those things that I want to write down so that in the future I can look back and go, "oh yeah... I remember that" like when I read my old entries. Let's see what we can remember, even though my eyes are shutting on their own for one reason or another... I think it's because I went to bed around 1 last night and had to get up for work today, and didn't take a nap this afternoon. I shouldn't be getting this much sleep anyways, because once school starts I'll just be wasting way too much time and won't be able to pay attention or whatever.

Reflecting on the past school quarter...
Fuck I'm glad Winter Quarter of 2005 is over. Those classes really kicked my ass. I quote Jeff when I say that, "... it's mainly because of those first 5 weeks of school when I was working a ton. That set me back." I think it really did. I mean, the first 2 weeks of school I realized that I simply didn't have enough time to sleep, play, work, and do that 16 units of work. I dropped psychology, thinking it would give me more time... it did, it gave me time to screw around on Mondays and Wednesday (especially Wednesdays) mornings and bowl or shoot pool or finish homework. Well I guess it wasn't a total loss, I thought it was until I remembered the finishing homework part.
- EE 307 was a fucking bitch. Gerf, you are a fucking bad teacher/lecturer... you make so many mistakes and go off on tangents during class that it is impossible to learn anything during class. Okay that's not true, but it is hard as hell. I studied on my own, and only did just enough to get by. That final was impossible you know that? What were all those fucking design problems? Huh? I don't even want to waste my time talking about it anymore. All I know is that I don't think I failed it, (then again, those are some famous last words until I saw that 2nd Stats test... more to come) but I did have a bad grade going into that final (with the exception of my homework points - half decent and better than most - and that last quiz which I killed and will help with my overall grade). Whatever. Projected Grade: C (range -ish)
- EE 302 was the only class I liked. Tandon is just a funny-ass old coot who can't speak English 100% correctly and laughed at himself and WITH us in class. It was full of, "Mr. Wee-Willy with the diamond earrings" and "Where did you see an abacus? (my reply in front of the whole class: in a museum! {class erupts in laughter}) and Tandon gives me a smirk. He tried his best to teach, and was not bad (but you better sit in the front, otherwise you can't see what he's writing and by the time he moves and you try to copy it down, you can't read his writing at all and don't get to listen to what he's saying - thus NOTHING makes sense. His tests were not bad, ended up getting 21.5/25 on both his midterms, but boy oh boy was his final something else. I had to fucking do the Bode Plot problem (#2) THREE (count them, 1, 2, THREE) times because I fucked up so badly, and I didn't even get it fully correct (the numerator factored after using Quadratic! Nooooo!), and what the fuck was that "write G1 and G2 from the bode plot" problem?! That fucking Polar plot was insane, WTF was the pole doing in the right 1/2 plane?! The last problem was 1/2 way decent... but the test as a whole... oh man. Went into the final with a B, but Projected Grade: C+
- STAT 350: Man this was took the cake. I thought it was going to be a cake walk, and stats was, "calculator math" in my mind. Nuh uh. Nope. First midterm was easy, getting an A on it, but the second midterm was a big fat F. The quizzes combined was the 3rd F. Homework was okay, maybe about B range score. That least me what, a C- going into the final? The final was actually do-able. Thanks to Willie and that 1 problem that I copied onto my notesheet before the test. Without it, I would've screwed up 2/3 of that test for sure. WTF was Schaffner talking about... 1/2 the test was gonna be on old material, psh. 6 problems, 4 of them on old material, but points wise it was worth 1/3 of the test! That means had I not had that problem on my sheet, I would have been F-ed in the A on that final, and in the class as a whole! I felt I did 1/2 way decent on the final, at least I finished it. Projected Grade: C
- EE 347 Lab: Easy stuff. Without Andrew's and Mike's old prelabs and labs, we would've been so screwed and dead during lab. Thank god for those electronic copies, it allowed me to fucking get by Goubin during those in-lab "check offs". Me and Rich finished with approximately... lets check BlackBoard... 87.96% of the points possible. OMG, checking BlackBoard yielded my grade for the lab as well. Thanks Andrew and Mike. Known Grade: A-
- EE 342 Lab: 5 Labs, most of them a pain in the ass and didn't really know what the fuck all those machine did (simulate a block diagram of a system?). Anyways, it was 1/2 and 1/2 - meaning that I did all the math and calculations in the report, and Christian did the setup and experimental acquisition of the data. Man he was really starting to develop a bad attitude during the end there... what a fucking nerd, but it's a good thing he's somewhat smart so he did his share. The final was not bad, written part was fairly easy, except 1 of the problems (thus 1/4 of the test). Experimental portion I got at least 1/2 of it right (root locus) but the other half was almost a total failure, as I couldn't figure out the fucking oscilloscope and finally when I imported the waveform, realized that it was similar to what I had seen on the screen when Christian did it. However, my scaling was screwed up as I took my data and that portion of the final up to the table to turn in, thus I made a 180 degree turn, went back to my desk, and changed the scale and my numbers completely... by that time I didn't care anymore. Lab report grades were average compared to others... higher on some, LOWEST on 1 report. Expected Grade: B

Wow that school quarter sucked. And I repeat myself, "This quarter I will receive one of my lowest quarter GPAs, while it was the quarter where I took the least # of units." What do I blame? I blame work for 30% of the problem (beginning of the quarter AND throughout the rest) and I blame the rest of it on myself for not putting in extra time. Oh well, I fucked up... lets move on.

Speaking of work. I didn't get the job. What did I do wrong? Can't ask... so I hypothesize. I would have to say, a lot of it had to do with the fact that Steve and Jen know of my lacking of a car and transportation (thus IMMEDIATE response to problems) and that I have been caught doing homework, eating, playing, etc during work... contradicting what they ask during the interview. Also it prolly has to do with that one time after the fucking STAT quiz where I just blew up, because I was pissed off and ashamed at myself. What can I do. I'm glad Jeff got it. If it had to be anyone else, I'm glad it was him. However it is the first time I have failed in that sense (professionally), as I have never been turned away once given a chance. Its okay though, I'll just work on the cash operation.

New clan! Website is.... well, website is on its way. Looks good, got minor bugs to work out, and I need to fill er up. God I hope he can get the forums to work. We are really starting to come together, server is down though (thanks Ban... because I would've done it myself, hahaha)... but we have managed to change the damage to our liking (done hard and long way, thanks Ban) and weapons to our likings too. We are even getting the server customised to our colors, intro message, etc. I gotta go work on binds after this, cause I keep putting them off. Need to get server up, where is Dr. Love? Shit, where am I even gonna work on binds? DeZ? *checks HLSW* Aha, two servers empty... one is a private one, I will prolly go there. Dr. Love seems pissed off... [iLe] vs. {Rangers} record: 2-0 baby! They got no chance. We are really coming together as a team, but will need more members, SKILLED members. Where is Zar?

Okay I'm tired, time to go.
Things to do during Spring Break
- Haircut
- Get Comedy Central CD from Erik
- Finish website
- Pay bills
- Figure out jury duty
- Put away binders and prepare for next quarter
- Work

Clan stuff...

Yeah well, we got it over with this past weekend. Long story short, I've made arrangements to get server and TS changed over beginning of April to new clan's, talking with Zarghidas about website design and Wraith is getting ahold of his cousin. I am giving Yogi the website, and will have to buy a new domain name under our new clan's name. Most members are coming, including Wraith and today StingRay told me he would too and is coming back to the game.

Lets do a list like Jaime did:

To be done until Spring Break (in order of events):
- Stats Quiz #4
- EE 347 Lab #7 (and Lab #8 writeup)
- EE 342 Lab #5 writeup
- EE 342 Lab Final
- Stats Study Session
- EE 307 Common Final (Monday night)
- EE 302 Final (Thursday morning 10AM)
- Stats Final (Thursday afternoon 1PM)
- Complete New Clan's form for Zarghidas for website
- Drink like a son of a bitch

Spring Break Plans:
- Work
- Complete the launch of MY New Clan!!!
- Relax and play SoF2 with MY New Clan!!!
- Drink

Spring Quarter:
- EE 335 (ugh... hard physics-like class)
- EE 314 (CRASH!!!)
- ENGL 149 (tech writing... better not be lots of work)
- PHIL 316 (contemporary European philosophy... I love saying that to people, it makes them go "HUH?")
- PE 112 (intermediate bowling with Jeff and Paul, we will kick ass!)
- Work around 15 hours a week (3 shifts)
- Mom and brothers visiting during beginning of quarter

Well I suppose it's bedtime so I can wake up and finish things tomorrow. I need $$$ for the clan and for spending on stuff... stuff = eBay CDs, fast food, lunch on campus, bear claws (yum.... apple... milk...), groceries, bar money, "taxi" money. Guess I gotta keep "looking forward" to work then... ;)

Where is Kara? I miss you.
