FREEDOM

... has never felt so good. Well, it did until my headache started kicking in. Lets do a rewind and pick up where that last post left off, at 5AM this June 9th morning.

I continued to study, mostly 335, getting more stuff down on my handy "helper". Mike woke up, studied as well. Butterflies flying around, creating a tornado in my stomach. Andrew dropped us off at school, and we went in and took it. 10 freaking pages long, perhaps one of the longest finals I've ever seen/done. It was worth 30% (or more) of our grade, so we'll see. I didn't even use the Smith Chart, lol yet Harris still put my name on it and stapled the blank thing to my test. So I got out with about 15-20 minutes left, after doing enough to expect probably (with the help of partial credit) about 100/140 points on that final. That's pretty DAMN GOOD... if I can get that, I'll pull out with a B in the class.

So then we go to 314. It was a mad dash for the back row of seats when we walked in that classroom (after being stuck outside due to another class finishing their final). The test wasn't bad, written to be taken in 2 hours... 7 problems. Boy am I glad I have the friends that I have, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to get one of those problems that I had to print the solutions out. Anyways, I utilized like freaking 6 pages of notes, whereas the rest of the class was formally allowed 1 page, front and back (but we all know and saw how everyone else has like 2-4 pages worth, so I wasn't the only one). Sitting in the back made it easy. So I walk out, and boom....... it hits me.........

FREEDOM

We get home on the bus, and throw Mike's chicken pieces on the barbeque, hot dogs and burgers, and I start drinking my Blue Moons. Ping pong followed suit, along with Celebrity Poker on TV. I got the urge to play Part Poker again, and as of this very moment I'm up $100 after the initial buy in of $100. I should just stop, lol and leave... delete the game from my computer. We also made a slurpee run too. However tonight, after playing SoF2 for a while, my whole body started aching for some reason. It was like the feeling you get in your head when you get a headache/migraine, but throughout my whole entire body. Weird. So I layed down for like 20 minutes and kinda sorta not really fell asleep for a bit. Woke up, and the rest of the guys went out to the bars (with Mike losing James' ID to the bouncer, haha) and I just stayed home and did some cleaning and putting away of this school year's stuff. Good times. Let's do a prediction of grades:

EE 335: Well, with 162 points after the 2nd midterm and the class average around 145 or something, I'm doing okay. It comes down to the final, and if I can do above class average I think I'll end up with a B- to B type of a grade. However, if something should occur like it did on the 2nd midterm (lets not go into details, we'll just say that everything could go wrong, DID), then I will probably end up with a C. Grade Expected: C+

ASTRO 302: The last homework grade turned out good, with 9/10 points, as did the 2nd Midterm-Quiz with 11/16 (compared to class average of 8/16). However, we must take into considering my 6/22 performance on the 1st Midterm-Quiz, worth 15% of my grade. The final was fairly difficult, with some things being left completely blank. This class turned out to be much harder than expected, but once again, I blame myself for choosing Saenz once again after already having him and knowing what his tests are like during Modern Physics. I expect class average performance on the final, but then again it could shift to be a big surprise like that first quiz. Grade Expected: C

EE 314: Well, I was below average on both of the midterms. However talking to Yu after the final, she said something to the extent of how if you're slightly above average, you'll get like a B. So, I'm looking at something close to a C depending on my performance of the final. It could be slightly above average, or slightly below average, but definetly not bad... as I had a couple to a few of those problems completely figured out. I think it'll come down to the T/F questions, that will be the deciding factor. 40%?! Geeze... Grade Expected: C

PHIL 316: Well I managed to BS that final out as best to my ability, with questions 3 and 4 being especially tough. But after talking to Aaron, I had enough material to BS and write down enough content to turn in. I think the thank you e-mail also helped, as Dr. Fab even replied - so I definetly made a good impression. If I can do just slightly above class average and get just enough of the points on the final (especially those 2 questions, since I think I nailed the other ones) to show that I learned and made an effort, I don't see myself getting anything lower than a B+. I am very hopeful, and I will continue my positive attitude for that class. Grade Expected: A

We will find out next week the results, and I will be sure to share. More to come on this fun weekend...

It is so close I can almost taste it... then again I'm only on 3 hours of sleep, so what the hell do I know.

I'm almost fucking done... god damn it is so close. Last chance to bullshit around here and waste time before doing some last minute studying and finishing my notesheets, notecard, and reviewing some problems. God I want this to be over. I am getting ready to embark on a 6 hour trip of a hell marathon in which I will proceed to prove all that I know about Electrostatics and Transmission Lines, as well as the Intro to Communications.

FUCK

I can do this. I know I can... because if I can't... why the fuck am I up at 5 in the fucking morning after sleeping for 3 hours.

"When we speak of material thingliness, do we not tacitly posit a kind of being – the constant objective presence of a thing – which is so far from being rounded out ontologically by subsequently outfitting beings with values predicates that these value characters themselves rather remain mere ontic qualities of a being which has the kind of being of a thing?" - Martin Heidegger

Four-Day Weekend, Day #4

So it's my day off from school, no classes and no work. I wake up, put my pants on one leg at a time and prepare for the rest of the day. I start off by calling Charter and getting the TV and Internet thing cancelled and figured out. I then get my 314 homework done in time to catch the bus to school. I go to the craft center and spend about an hour there with the sand, water, bucket, and pottery spinner table. After that was over, I was done in time to go to the health center for my appointment with Dr. Ascoli. He seemed rude at first, but in the end he was okay and gave me my diagnosis and it turns out my finger is still inflammed and needs to heal for about 4 weeks and I should take 800mg of anti-inflammatory drugs (IB Profine) for 7-10 days to help it out. After the health center it was Astronomy time, as I sepent a couple hours there and ate dinner, ran into Darra. Then I went downstairs to relax a bit and shot pool with Jeff and Hasan and Dave. Brian showed up, and we went to the observatory for the last time during the last time it would be open, and it was packed. Afterwards, we went over some astronomy stuff, and I finally came home. After coming home and eating dinner, I worked on the astronomy homework even more, and got a good amount of it done before going to bed at 2 in the morning.

Academic Obligations Accomplished: 314 homework, sand project for astronomy, studying for astronomy quiz, astronomy homework.
